Do you have questions about the Catholic Church or the Catholic Faith?
Many people have questions about the Catholic Church or the Catholic faith: why we do what we do, how it functions, mistakes the Church has made in the past etc. Some wonder about things like why we don't seem to emphasize the Bible more or why we pray to Mary and the Saints. We encourage you to submit your questions by typing them in this box and you will receive a response from one of the Staff of St. Joseph Parish. Please include your return email address in your message so that we can respond to your question.
Thank you.

Women's Silent Retreat at beautiful St. Benedict's Abbey at Benet Lake Wisconsin just 45 minutes from Libertyville. This retreat begins on Friday afternoon, August 6, 2010 at 3pm and finishes on Sunday, August 8 at 2:30 pm. Diane Vazquez will be leading us in Centering Prayer on Saturday evening. Each woman has a private room and bath that is air-conditioned. There is plenty of room to walk, sit by the lake or enjoy the beautiful abbey chapel. Daily Mass and praying the Liturgy of the Hours is also an option during this retreat. The cost for these three days, and 6 meals is $160.00. There is room for 20 women on this weekend. THE NOTRE DAME CLUB OF LAKE COUNTY together with St. Joseph Church and the St. Joseph School Advisory Committee invite you to a Hesburgh Lecture exploring.......
THE RIGHT QUESTIONS ABOUT SCHOOL CHOICE:
EDUCATION, RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, AND THE COMMON GOOD
Presented by Richard W. Garnett, J.D., Associate Dean and Profesor, Univeristy of Notre Dame Law School, Fellow, Institute for Educational Initiatives. This lecture is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
It's been more than 5 years since the Supreme Court ruled, In Zelman v. Simons-Harris, that the Constitution permits state and local governments to experiment with school-voucher programs, and to include religious schools in the menu of parents' options. What is the current state of the school-choice debate in the courts, in our legislatures, and in the public square? What questions and concerns should shape our thinking about education reform and its connection to religious freedom?
Please come to St. Joseph Parish Koenig Center on Maple Ave (between the Church and School) at 7:00 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2010.

BOSTON COLLEGE C21 WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES
Do you wish you could take a class but don't have time to fit it in? What about taking a class online that's available 24/7? C21 is a partner of Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, a Jesuit College. These non-credit classes are a rich opportunity for spiritual renewal and ongoing faith formation. St. Joseph Parish partners with C21 to make these classes available to our parishioners at a reduced rate; workshops are $15 each and classes are $35. If you are interested in seeing what is being offered go to their website at www.bc.edu/c21online or contact Christine Kowalcky at 800-487-1167 or christine.kowalcky@bc.edu.
