It continues to be a privilege to serve as principal of St. Joseph Catholic School. We are a 2009 and 2017 National Blue Ribbon school that was founded over 90 years ago by a group of men and women who knew the impact a Catholic education could have on young children. Each day, I am blessed to witness the excellent work by our faculty and staff as they not only educate our 450 students, but also cultivate the values of service, gratitude, independence, kindness and respect within each student.
St. Joseph Catholic School focuses on each student’s individual growth. While parents remain the primary faith educa-tors for their children, our teachers also influence our students in many ways. Our work is affirmed each year as we graduate strong, independent young adults committed to our Catholic faith and service to others. In communicating with our alumni, it seems as if, year after year, our students graduate from St. Joseph Catholic School with those foundational values built on faith and personal responsibility. I remain convinced that attending a Catholic school is a life-changing experience.
We would not be the vibrant place we are without the generous support and partnership of our parish. For more than 90 years, the parish and school have worked together to provide an excellent education for our students. The financial sup-port from our parish and the generosity of parishioners who have provided scholarships and made investments in our school have transformed our learning spaces and school community. Thank you for your continued support.
Finally, this weekend begins Catholic Schools Week. I invite all parishioners interested in St. Joseph Catholic School, as well as current school families, to join our staff at the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, January 26. Following Mass, we are host-ing an Open House from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. During our Open House, families will have the opportunity to tour the school and meet our wonderful staff. In addition, we are hosting a Pancake Breakfast in the school gym and a Book Fair. All are welcome!
Our theme for Catholic Schools
-Week Learn, Serve, Lead, Succeed- is evdient in ourschool, especially among our 8th Grade class this year. They are living this theme daily and are truly a remarkable group of young men and women. They are an 8th Grade class full of leaders who genuinely care for their classmates and who value the high quality education they are being gifted by their parents. When the school year began in August, they set the tone for our school community, and they live each day with the message of treating others with kindness and respect.
I want to thank you for your continued prayers for our school as well as your support. We look forward to the next 90 years of educating students in mind, body and spirit.
Sincerely,
Anne Phoenix, Principal, St. Joseph Catholic School
