A Word From Father Trout: First Eucharist 2020

Dear Second Grade Parents,

Throughout these last few months, I have heard about your child’s progress with their formation and preparation for their First Eucharist. I know our First Communicants are looking forward to coming to Christ’s table. 

Based on current guidelines from local public health departments as well as our governor, Cardinal Cupich has mandated the suspension of all public gatherings and liturgies beginning Friday, March 13 until further notice. Additionally, schools are closed until a minimum of April 30, 2020.

At this time, I have determined that it is best to postpone your child’s First Eucharist until we can safely come together to celebrate this joy-filled sacrament. I want our First Communicants to remember their First Eucharist as a day that was full of love and peace while surrounded by their family and friends. Please know that I am committed to celebrating your child’s First Eucharist as soon as possible.  

I apologize for the challenges this has presented to you and your families and all who planned to gather for this celebration. Your patience and understanding in these challenging times are greatly appreciated. Please keep all those affected by this pandemic in your prayers.
