To All Those Attending Mass (Church and Drive-In) and Liturgical Events,
Thank you all for following our safety protocols as outlined by the Archdiocese of Chicago. To date, we have safely welcomed more than 35,000 parishioners and visitors to our church. We couldn't have done this without your commitment and diligence.
If you are making plans to travel out of state, we want to remind you of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations concerning travel. Recently, the CDC has issued a new quarantine recommendation.
The CDC is now allowing 10-day quarantine (instead of 14-day quarantine) for individuals who are exposed to someone who is COVID-19 positive or for those who have traveled to hotspot states. The quarantine period can be reduced to seven days if the individual receives a negative COVID-19 test result. While this guidance is helpful, the CDC makes it clear that state and local health authorities can implement more restrictive quarantine
periods.
To date, the Archdiocese of Chicago has not changed their 14-day quarantine
requirements. Therefore, we are asking if you plan on traveling outside of the state, that you quarantine 14 days and refrain from attending Mass (church and the Drive In Mass) and other liturgical events.
Given ongoing efforts to control the spread of COVID-19, this standard is required to best protect the health and well-being of all. We pray that with each of us being careful and responsible in our own planning, we will help improve the situation for all those around us.
