The Libertyville Village Board has approved Civiltech Engineering's safety study, paving the way for crucial upgrades to the crosswalk on Milwaukee Avenue at Maple Avenue, right in front of our Church. This milestone is the result of over three years of hard work led by our parishioner, Jon Monroe, Chair of our Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), and a dedicated team of parishioners and community members.
The new safety features will include a center refuge median and a rapid rectangular flashing beacon, similar to the one on Winchester Road. Construction is set to begin this summer, with an estimated cost of $250,000.
A special thank you to Mayor Donna Johnson, a valued parishioner, for her support in ensuring the Village Board's unanimous vote. These upgrades are critical for the safety of our students, parishioners, and the entire community.
These upgrades will enhance safety for all, ensuring a safer path for our students, parishioners, and visitors as they come to worship and grow in faith. We are grateful to God for this blessing and to everyone who helped make it happen.
