This summer, 11 BSA Troop 60 Scouts & 7 adult leaders visited Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Camp in Pearson, WI. Over the week, our Scouts and adult leaders swam, hiked, cooked & ate, boated, participated in various sports & enjoyed additional outdoor activities with other northeastern Illinois BSA Scouts. Our Scouts earned Astronomy, Enviromental Science, Life Saving, First Aid, Emergency Preparedness, Motorboating, and other merit badges. Troop 60 once again earned the Baden-Powell Award and received a perfect score for maintaining the Troop 60 campsite, conducting a daily Flag Ceremony at our campsite, and performing a project that benefitted the entire Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Camp. Five Scouts and an adult leader also helped at Camp an extra day and were welcomed into the Order of the Arrow at a special ceremony.
