Our parish participated win the Holy Hour for Vocations Centennial Tour on Saturday, March 19. The celebration included the beautiful monstrance that was given by Pope Pious XI to Cardinal Mundelein and was used in the 1926 Eucharistic Congress. The Blessed Sacrament was exposed in the monstrance for an hour of adoration which included soft music and the traditional hymns used during Benediction. A special thank you to the talented ladies who sang and played the piano, creating an atmosphere of prayerful reflection. This event was part of Mundelein Seminary's celebration of 100 years of forming parish priests.
The adoration was preceded by a brief presentation by one of the seminarians assigned to our parish through the Tolton Teaching Parish Program. Seminarian Vicente Cobos shared his vocations story in an enlightening and inspirational manner.
The special monstrance was on display in the narthex for all of the Sunday morning Masses for all parishioners to view. A special thank you to all who participated, especially Fr. Emanuel, Vicente Cobos and the ladies who sang so beautifully in the choir.
Check out a recording of the live-stream and take some time to pray and reflect and take in Vicente's presentation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntm4VGjhkw8&t=320s
