We made it through August. August is the hardest month to staff volunteers. Everyone has something to do in August! Fortunately, we got lots of help from Rosalind Franklin students. In September they will help David Neild and Louise Przywara on their Saturday volunteer dates. Volunteering with the young people is always entertaining! We bought a new commercial side by side refrigerator and we were amazed that the movers could get it down the stairs. The kitchen has low ceilings due to steam piping. Next up we need to buy a new upright freezer. We plan to use giving tree money to help with funding. The Knights of Columbus & Project 22 have been providing precooked meat. Sunset, Trader Joes & Heinen’s continue to donate lots of fresh food. The K of C precooked meat makes operations more efficient and helps with expenses. St Joes Food Pantry has been donating food on a regular basis, which we use or send over to the Most Blessed Trinity Food Pantry. For the time being we plan to continue serving “to go”! Thanks for all you do! Mike Lynn 847-975-2692
