Joe earned his Master of Divinity from the Jesuit School of Theology (JST) of Santa Clara University in Berkeley, CA in 2018. JST is one of two centers of theological formation for Jesuits in the United States. While at JST, Joe collaborated with peers to start lay faith sharing groups to foster the spiritual development of lay students. He also conducted a Marriage Enrichment study for the Diocese of Oakland and served as a student-teacher for religion at Immaculate Conception Academy, a women's high school in San Francisco. From 2018-2020, Joe taught a variety of Old and New Testament courses for Loyola University Chicago's Scripture School, part of the Institute for Pastoral Studies. For the last three years, he has also ministered to youth and young adults, first as Director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry at Resurrection Catholic Church in Woodstock, and most recently as Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at Saint Anne Catholic Community in Barrington. Before studying theology, Joe was an account manager for a marketing company after having earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from Loyola University Chicago. Joe loves making authentic Neapolitan Pizza, gardening, listening to oldies, American history, and hiking. He has been married to his wife Sarah for seven years. Sarah is a nurse at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. He'll likely tell you the story of how they met in Italy!
