Conversations that Matter

 
Please join the Social Justice Commission for our first  “Conversations that Matter – Building Compassionate Community” on Wednesday, February 5, at 6:30 pm, the Royal Room at O’Tooles Libertyville. This is a discussion series tackling topical issues affecting our families and our community. 
Through thoughtful and respectful discussion, we hope to open hearts and minds, promote solidarity and build community. We welcome all who want to learn, network and to live out their faith through education, advocacy and service in the realm of social justice.
Our February topic is “The Unintended Consequences of Legalized Marijuana” presented by Diana Bottari, a physician and expert on opioid mitigation strategies.  The decriminalization of marijuana brings up many complex issues as it relates to social justice. Ms. Bottari will address the medical consequences that could follow this legalization. We aim to inform and to educate the community on advocacy and legislative action as it relates to this topic.

Food and drinks are available for purchase from the O’tooles menu. Come early and break bread with your neighbors, and/or grab a pint and mingle. We aim to keep the conversations deep, but the fellowship fun. 

All are welcome, but RSVP is encouraged, space is limited, and this timely topic will draw a crowd. Please use the below form to RSVP.
