Bridges Out of Poverty Workshop: Session 1

Most of us have a very limited understanding of what it means to be a member of the “poverty class” in the U.S. or how to interact with someone from poverty in a positive, effective way.  Consideration of poverty in Catholic social teaching begins with the foundation that each person is both sacred and social, created in God’s image, and destined to share in the goods of the earth as part of a community of justice and mercy.
 
We invite you to join St Joseph parishioners in a wonderful program entitled  Bridges Out of Poverty. This Zoom format workshop will provide life-changing perspective and insight into:

• Causes of poverty
• How economic class affects us
• The hidden rules of economic class
• Identifying and building resources
• How access to resources affects families
• Tools for building relationships of mutual respect

 
We will offer two workshop options of three 2-hour sessions per workshop.  Please sign up online for either Workshop Series #1 or Workshop Series #2. Class size is limited. Please only sign up if you are available to attend all three sessions of the workshop. Sorry, no mix-and-match between the two workshops.
 
Workshop #1: April 9, 16 and 23  |  10:00 a.m. – Noon
 
Workshop #2: April 13, 20 and 27  |  7:00 p.m. – 9 p.m.
