Conversation that Matters! Conversation that Matters Save the Date!
The Journey of an asylum seeker! When: Wednesday, June 29th
Where: O’Toole’s Restaurant in Libertyville
Time: 6 p.m.
What conversation will be heard?
Join an evening presentation that will answer those questions and explore the role that Viator House of Hospitality plays in the lives of young people so far from home seeking protection in our nation. Since opening in 2017, Viator House has welcomed 95 young people from 22 nations who've fled to our country alone. Viator House offers them a safe home along with opportunities for education, work, therapy and connections with the religion of their choice. Abdu is only one of the many thousands of children who flee alone to the U.S. each year seeking protection. More than 130,000 came in 2021 alone. What happens when they arrive? Where do they go? What legal avenues protect them from being deported back to danger? How does Viator House make such a big difference? What can you do to support young people seeking safety in the U.S.? As Jesus said to his followers, “Come and see.”
People are invited to order their beverages and dinner before the presentation and meet other parishioners.
Please contact Mary Causey to register: [email protected] or contact (847)990-1213 The event is limited to 30 people.
