National Vocations Awareness Week
This year National Vocations Awareness Week will take place November 6 – 12. This is a time set aside by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to draw attention to the fact that we are all called to serve God in unique and special ways. Please watch this brief video by Fr. Mike Schmitz to learn more about the vocations and how you are being called: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJz9PbakIzY
Please pray that everyone in our faith community will respond to God’s call, especially for those being called to the priesthood, consecrated life and marriage.
More about National Vocations Awareness Week:
This is an annual week long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United
States dedicated to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and
consecrated life through prayer and education. We are asked to renew our
prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular
vocations. Please ask Our Lord for more dedicated priests, deacons and
consecrated men and women.
Pray also that we will have more marriages in our Church and that all parents
and grandparents will strive to insure that young people discern what God is
calling them to do with their lives.
All mighty God and Father, we beg you for an increase in religious vocations and
holy marriages in our parish. Help us to be generous in our response to your
call. Choose from our homes those who are needed for your work and
strengthen us with the courage to say “yes” and to follow you. Help us as a
parish and as families to recognize and foster vocations to the priesthood,
religious life, lay ministry and marriage or whatever path you are calling us to
follow. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen
