About
The St. Joseph’s Food Pantry is located at 112 North Milwaukee Ave in the Mil Park Plaza, in Libertyville, IL.
The Food Pantry serves residents of Lake County, IL and people experiencing homelessness. Guests are required to register to use the Pantry. A government-issued photo ID with an address or other proof of local residency is required. After registration, a St. Joseph Food Pantry ID will be issued and is required to be presented at each subsequent visit. Each household is permitted to visit the Food Pantry once every seven days.
Through a partnership with the Northern Illinois Food Bank and local businesses, the Pantry can offer basic food items such as canned goods, milk, eggs, meat, rice, cereal, bread, pasta, mac & cheese, etc. at low or no cost to the Pantry. Often fresh produce is available as well. The pantry is arranged to allow guests to select what they need from the items that are available on the shelves.
St. Joseph’s Food Pantry is a ministry of the Social Justice and Service Commission. It is operated by the Knights of Columbus’ volunteers along with a group of parishioners who regularly volunteer. Additional volunteer opportunities can be found under the food pantry iVolunteer site.
The Pantry is funded by parishioners of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and receives additional financial support, volunteer service, and food donations from the community, including, St. Joseph parishioners, St. Joseph Catholic School families, community organizations, and local businesses. The Pantry appreciates very much the support it receives to feed the hungry in Lake County!

Volunteer at the Food Pantry
We have a range of volunteer responsibilities that one can help with. The daily operation of the food pantry requires us to check in guests, help with filling carts, stock shelves, divide donations, and hand out fresh produce, meat, and dairy items. If you are interested in helping with our outreach, we would love that too.
If you wish to help out at the Food Pantry, please check the volunteer slot button to the left to determine the available days and times. Students in 7th grade and above may volunteer at the pantry any Sunday and/or the first and 3rd Saturdays of each month. This is when we have Virtus-trained adults available to supervise. Weekday spots are currently not available to youth. If the slots are full, please contact Joe Wegrzyn ([email protected] or by phone at 847.990.1211).
Donations
We are grateful for all donations, whether they are financial or food items. For those considering donating money, please know that for every $1 you donate, we can purchase $8 of groceries from Northern IL Food Bank. That means your money goes a long way! All non-perishable donations may be dropped off in the foyer of St. Joseph Food Pantry, any day, between 7 AM and 6 PM. For larger donations, please contact Joe Wegrzyn ([email protected] or by phone at 847.990.1211).
