Step 1 - Invite at least 2 friends. We suggest max 8 per group.
Step 2 - Once they’re in, choose your meeting location, time, frequency, and group type (women, men, married couples, singles, etc.)
Step 3 - Decide if your group is open to others who register online or through the parish, and how many more people your group can take on.
Step 4 - Fill out the form to the right. A small group point person will follow up with you.
Step 5 - Watch the host training video. We'll send the training right to you after you register your group.
You'll share a simple snack, watch a short highlight video of the livestreamed homily, and use some discussion questions as a guide for conversation. You'll also pray together at the beginning and end of the meeting.
Being a host is simple. All you have to do is invite at least two friends, open up a space to meet, serve a simple snack, turn on a video, and read discussion questions. It's really that simple!
Hosts commit to five weekly meetings that are 90 minutes, and take about 30 minutes before each meeting to view the video in advance and familiarize themselves with the discussion quesitons.
We’ve got you covered! Hosts will be sent a training video after they register their group so they are comfortable with the format and see the vision. We’ll also match you up with a coach. Coaches are veteran small group leaders who can support you along the way, pray for you, and give you timely friendly reminders and next steps to make sure everything goes nice and smoothly for you.
You can step away from hosting after the five weeks, no strings attached and no hard feelings. We hope (and strongly believe) that you will grow more consistently as a follower of Jesus if you keep going with your group after the five weeks. You’ll also likely build stronger, more authentic, and lasting connections with the people you meet with. So we hope you’ll consider continuing to meet. If you decide to continue, your coach will walk you through your next steps to grow from a host to a leader.
If you have two friends and have a heart for others and a space to meet, you can host! Simple as that. You don’t have to know the Bible well or be a theologian. You’re a host, not a teacher. We provide the content and the questions, you simply share it with your group.
Invite at least two friends (we suggest 8 max per group) and fill out the form above to let us know you will be a host. After you submit it, a member of our small group team will reach out to confirm your submission.
Before your final meeting, hosts will lead their groups in a conversation about “what’s next.” You can step away from meeting after the five weeks, no strings attached and no hard feelings. We hope (and strongly believe) that you will get the most out of the Follow Jesus series if you keep going with your group after the five weeks. You’ll also likely build strong, authentic, and lasting connections with the people you meet with. So we hope you’ll consider continuing to meet.
Groups typically meet in the host's home. But that is by no means the only option. You can meet in coffee shops, reserve space at a library, have virtual meetings, or meet over brunch or breakfast at a restaurant...the options are endless!
No worries! There are plenty of other meeting location options. You can meet in coffee shops, the library, workplaces, have virtual meetings, or over brunch at a restaurant. The options are endless!
