My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Cardinal Cupich has mandated the suspension of all liturgies and public gatherings beginning this evening, Friday, March 13 until further notice. The Cardinal’s decision is the result of the continuing spread of coronavirus/COVID-19 and based on current guidelines from local public health departments recommending the cancellation of public gatherings.
In compliance with this mandate, the following will not be held until further notice:
Weekday Masses
Weekend Masses
Baptism
Confirmation
Saturday Reconciliation
Stations of the Cross
Eucharistic Adoration/Holy Hour
All meetings and parish events
The church will remain open for private prayer:
Monday-Friday 6am-5pm
Saturday 6am-4pm
Sunday 10am-6pm
In compliance with the Archdiocesan guidelines, the church will not be opened for parishioners and visitors to attend these Masses. However, the Saturday 5pm and Sunday 9am Masses will continue to be live-streamed at www.stjoseph-libertyville.org/live. This provides an opportunity to remain connected to our liturgies.
We will continue to monitor this fluid situation and we will share new or additional guidelines as we receive them. Our website and social media accounts will also be updated. This is a challenging time for all of us. We ask for your patience, understanding and prayers.
In gratitude,
Fr. John Trout
