BSA Troop 60 Scouts are very proud of Tommy V. for successfully completing his Board of Review and being awarded the rank of Eagle. Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the Scouts BSA and those who earn it must fulfill requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills.
Tommy's Board of Review included discussions about his Eagle project, his Scouting experience, as well as his plans for the future. Tommy's Eagle project included purchasing and assembling safety equipment (disposable masks, gloves, sanitizing wipes and informational leaflets) into 1,000 personal protection equipment (PPE) packs. These packs helped Lake County residents who were unable to purchase supplies due to financial hardship and distributed them through the Warren Township Food Pantry (WTFP). At the time, Lake County had the second highest number of Covid-19 cases in Illinois.
Tommy raised funds for the necessary supplies through generous donations from members in the community and coordinated Troop 60 Scouts and scouters to assemble the PPE packs. Strict safety practices were followed all throughout the project because of Covid-19 precautions- from contact-free delivery of materials to volunteers' homes to final drop-off at WTFP. Tommy's Eagle project helped keep many families safe during the pandemic.
Congratulations, Tommy!
