Backpack Project- Giving students the means to start the 2021-2022 school year prepared and ready to learn. With students returning to in-person learning, backpacks and school supplies were provided to children of families registered with the St. Joseph Food Pantry who reside in Libertyville township. Backpack distribution took place at the beginning of August when the children were provided gender- and grade- specific backpacks filled to the brim with school supplies. The children’s smiling faces and enthusiastic responses reflected how happy and grateful they were. They truly can start the new school year with the tools they need to succeed! Many thanks to food pantry volunteers, St. Joe’s eighth graders, and generous parishioners for another successful project serving those in need.
