Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship Program

Dear Parent,
 
The Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship Program provides Illinois children access to scholarships that could cover up to 100% of their tuition - depending on financial need. I write to you today to ask that you prayerfully consider donating to Empower Illinois’ Tax Credit Scholarship program and designating St. Joseph Catholic School, Libertyville as the recipient of your funds. When you contribute to this program, you will receive a state tax credit equal to 75 percent of your contribution. What an amazing opportunity- support St. Joseph students while significantly reducing your state tax bill.
 
Last year, the Archdiocese of Chicago ran a 2:1 matching promotion from December through February. That promotion resulted in $100,000 in scholarships for 19 students at SJCS.  This year, I am excited to announce that the Archdiocese is again offering the 2:1 matching opportunity. Every $1 donated to Empower Illinois by February 28, 2021 (and naming our school as the recipient of your donation) will be matched 2:1. This is an enormous opportunity for our students in need. In order to take advantage of this 2:1 matching opportunity, your donation must be made to Empower Illinois between December 1, 2020 - February 28, 2021. Matching funds are limited, so please make your donation before matching funds are depleted.

During the first year of this program, only three SJCS students received a Tax Credit Scholarship. Now, in our third year of Tax Credit Scholarships, 19 students received a scholarship toward their SJCS tuition obligation, however, six students remain on the scholarship wait list.  Even in our community of Libertyville, the need is still great for many families, especially now due to the pandemic.
