In our world that is filled with chaos and uncertainty, there are moments of serenity that remind us of the enduring power of faith, love, and community. One such moment was in 2021, when we received a gift of two statues of Mary and Joseph from St. John’s Parish in Glenwood which was closing. It was a sad moment that St. John was closing but joyful that these beautiful statues had found a new home in St. Joseph’s Church in Libertyville. We will always be grateful to St. John Parishioners together with Fr Mark Kalema who gave us these Statues.
When we received these Statues, we sent them off to be restored with a donation from our parishioner and last week, we were able to welcome the Statue of Mary into our church and enshrined in her rightful place. The statue of St. Joseph was installed into our school to remind our kids whose they are and welcome and protected our children and school staff.
The gift of a statues of Mary and Joseph is more than just a physical object; it is a testament to the deep spiritual connection that unites our community of faith with the saints in heaven. As we welcome these remarkable gifts, our hearts are swelled with gratitude, and we were reminded of the boundless love that St. John Parish in Glenwood has showered upon us. Let us always approach our heavenly mother and St. Joseph to intercede for our families.
