Troop #47135 meets once a month to explore their interests and gain important skills in four key areas that form the foundation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience:
Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)
Outdoors
Life Skills
Entrepreneurship
We've had two meetings so far this year where the girls planned out their badges they'd like to earn and activities they'd like to do in 2021-2022. The girls also earned their "Snacks" badge and "Senses" badge by creating their own snacks for our meeting and exploring different tastes, smells, feels, and sounds through some fun activities. The troop participated in the Fall Product campaign, selling nuts and magazines and earning money for troop activities and charitable contributions. They also attended a STEM event hosted by a Junior Girl Scout from Libertyville High School where they made their own ice cream, slime, lava lamps and learned about static electricity.
