January 31, 2021What does the Bible have to do with the praying the Mass? Plenty!
During this year’s Teaching Masses on January 31, parishioners of all ages learned how sacred Scripture is connected to many parts of the Mass, from the readings during the Liturgy of the Word to prayers during the Liturgy of the Eucharist and more.
The Teaching Masses were celebrated during the 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday liturgies. In addition, Fr. Robinson Ortiz began the celebration by showing the assembly in church and via livestream the vestments he wears for Mass and how each vestment has a meaning connected to them. The Mass also helped to kick off Catholic Schools Week, which St. Joseph School families will celebrate through the first week of February.
