The Rite of Election

On Sunday, February 26th, Catechumens, Candidates, and sponsors were at Holy Name Cathedral for the Rite of Election.

In the Rite of Election, our catechumen are formally called or chosen for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion. In the Call of Continuing Conversion, the Church welcomes those already baptized and preparing to complete their initiation through both Confirmation and Eucharist as they are received into the full communion of the Catholic Church.
