Adults and families gathered on January 26 to learn more about what prayer is, and is not. “God is not a Vending Machine” presented by Fr. David Mowry, generated more than 250 from St. Joseph and St. Mary of Vernon parishes to learn about the relationship that forms when we we open ourselves to God in prayer and listen for his voice.

Teens preparing for Confirmation attended one of two retreats offered at St. Joseph to help refresh their minds and hearts and re-commit to God and the graces of the sacrament.
Small group members, whose facilitators include John Morgan and Maurice Griffin, gathered for their January meeting to create “blessing bags” for needy people they encounter in their lives.
Seventh-graders in their first year of Confirmation preparationat St. Joseph took time during their Christmas vacation on January 2 to make blankets for children needing emotonal support.
A Community for the Kingdom group comprised of families with younger children, gathered on December 20 to package food for children through Feed My Starving Children.

Christmas came early for day laborers/jornaleros receiving much-needed winter clothing on December 7th. Thank you to all who generously donated clothes for the poor.
