Teen and parent volunteers helped the Faith Formation Team with their “Drive by and Pick-up” program on October 31 to help Children’s Faith Formation families get their learning materials for the upcoming months while being socially distanced.
We will be offering a Practicum training for anyone who is interested in becoming an Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EOM’s) on Wednesday, November 18 at 7:30 pm in the church.
Continuing the online monthly Mission: Possible parent formation series, the Children’s Faith Formation Team welcomed Fr. John Kartje onto Zoom on October 25 to share on “Hope for a Damaged World: Charity and Justice.”
Children’s Faith Formation students logged onto Zoom to join presenter Terry Nelson Johnson for their Confirmation retreat on October 24, part of their requirements as they continue to prepare to receive the sacrament in 2021.
Learning about the vessels used at Mass was part of a church tour for participants in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults process on October 21.
The activity at our Food Pantry continues to demonstrate the real need in our community for this service. Our parishioners have been very generous. During the week of October 5 we received 37 carts of food and household items. We estimate the weight of the donations at around 1,110 pounds with a value of around $1,931.
Members of a Community for the Kingdom small group Team 9 gathered in Marytown’s rosary garden to pray the rosary. They then collected donations for the Aid For Women ministry.
St. Joseph’s Men’s Ministry may have had to wait until September 19, but worked together to have a sold-out and sacred summer retreat at Mundelein Seminary.
