Proclaimers

Those who serve in this ministry proclaim the Word of God at daily and Sunday (weekend) liturgies.
The Proclaimer (“Lector”) Ministry is open to those who have completed the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation).

Proclaimers should have a love for Sacred Scripture and a desire to help the community hear and understand God’s Word through their proclamation. Required initial training is broken up into two 2-hour sessions.

The first session will cover Theology of Ministry and Theology/Spirituality of the Liturgical Proclamation of the Word.

The second session will focus on practical skills for the proclaimer.  New proclaimers must attend both sessions prior to serving at Mass. 

All existing proclaimers are welcome to attend training sessions as a refresher.
